Abandonment to Divine Providence: How to fulfill your daily duties with God-given purpose

Abandonment to Divine Providence: How to fulfill your daily duties with God-given purpose

"Let go and let God." This popular phrase captures the essence of Father Jean-Pierre de Caussade's 18th century treatise on trust, Abandonment to Divine Providence. Do you doubt? Do you suffer? Are you anxious about the trials of life? Father de Caussade offers the one sure solution to any spiritual difficulty: abandon yourself entirely to the Lord by embracing the duties of your station in life. With wisdom and gentleness, he teaches how to practice complete submission to the will of God in every situation, whether we are beginners or seasoned travelers on the way of perfection. True abandonment, he explains, is a trusting, peaceful, and childlike surrender to the guidance of grace. Paperback; 134 pages; 21.6x13.9cm

An Introduction to the Devout Life

An Introduction to the Devout Life

“You aim at true devotion, my dear Philothea, because, as a Christian, you know how acceptable it is to the Divine Majesty. But inasmuch as trifling errors at the outset of any undertaking are wont to increase rapidly as we advance, frequently becoming almost irreparable, it is needful that, first of all, you should ascertain wherein lies the virtue of devotion.” —St. Francis de Sales Everyone wants to go to Heaven, but how many of us actually know how to get there? Learn from the writings of St. Francis de Sales, the Doctor of Charity, on this very matter in his best-known work that specifically addresses this most important question. The knowledgeable and holy Doctor of the Church writes in a way that is both accessible and authoritative, reliable, and gentle. He guides us to the knowledge that we are all called to the devout life. True devotion to God, as St. Francis de Sales points out, adorns every vocation. Addressed as a personal letter to Philothea, or “lover of God”, this book covers all parts of a devout life and will be your guide to sainthood. Paperback; 360 pages; 20.3x13.9cm

Purgatory: Explained by the Lives and Legends of the Saints

Purgatory: Explained by the Lives and Legends of the Saints

What lies hereafter? More is known than one could imagine. In his presentation of the ancient Catholic tradition on Purgatory, Jesuit Fr. F. X. Schouppe draws on apparitions, visions, and revelations from the lives of saints including St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, St. Gertrude the Great, and St. Jean-Baptiste Marie Vianney and explores both the Justice and infinite Mercy of God. He too emphasises the importance of growing in Divine Charity for God and our neighbour and the absolute necessity of offering prayers, penance, almsgiving, and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for the poor souls — ways in which we can readily provide a very tangible help to our brothers and sisters longing for the Lord. Purgatory: Explained by the Lives and Legends of the Saints is an invaluable classic whose importance cannot be overstated. Paperback; 476 pages; 17.8x10.8cm

Brown Scapular – Carmelite Nuns Handmade

Brown Scapular – Carmelite Nuns Handmade

Handmade by the Carmelite Monastery in Goonellabah NSW. “WHOSOEVER DIES IN THIS GARMENT SHALL NOT SUFFER ETERNAL FIRE.” - promise of Our Lady to St. Simon Stock on July 16, 1251. To be eligible for the scapular promise, one must be enrolled in the Brown Scapular, a simple ceremony which can be performed by any Catholic priest. The members of the Confraternity have the added benefit of sharing in all the spiritual benefits of the Carmelite Order. In the year 1251, in the town of Aylesford in England, Our Lady appeared to St. Simon Stock, a Carmelite. She handed him a brown woolen scapular and said, “This shall be a privilege for you and all Carmelites, that anyone dying in this habit shall not suffer eternal fire.” In time, the Church extended this magnificent privilege to all the laity who are willing to be invested in the Brown Scapular of the Carmelites and who perpetually wear it. True devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary consists in three things: VENERATION, CONFIDENCE AND LOVE. By simply wearing the Scapular, we can tell her every moment of the day that we venerate her, love her and trust in her protection. This Brown Scapular comes packaged with an information leaflet which includes the actual Scapular Blessing and Enrollment.
