Padre Pio Ghirelli Timber Rosary Beads
These rosary beads are designed and handmade in Italy by the Ghirelli family who have been producing rosaries for over thirty years, including the official rosaries for the last three Popes. The central medal features St Padre Pio of Pietrelcina. The crucifix is traditional with the wounds of Christ highlighted to signify from whence came the grace of the Stigmata which Padre Pio carried through 50 years of his priestly life. All the medals and links are finished in antique silver and carry the story of the saint with details drawn from the pilgrimage site of San Giovanni Rotondo in Italy. The beads are wooden where each carries a detailed engraving. Each rosary comes in its own keepsake pouch which bears the saintly face of Padre Pio of Pietrelcina .
Brown Scapular – Carmelite Nuns Handmade
Handmade by the Carmelite Monastery in Goonellabah NSW. “WHOSOEVER DIES IN THIS GARMENT SHALL NOT SUFFER ETERNAL FIRE.” - promise of Our Lady to St. Simon Stock on July 16, 1251. To be eligible for the scapular promise, one must be enrolled in the Brown Scapular, a simple ceremony which can be performed by any Catholic priest. The members of the Confraternity have the added benefit of sharing in all the spiritual benefits of the Carmelite Order. In the year 1251, in the town of Aylesford in England, Our Lady appeared to St. Simon Stock, a Carmelite. She handed him a brown woolen scapular and said, “This shall be a privilege for you and all Carmelites, that anyone dying in this habit shall not suffer eternal fire.” In time, the Church extended this magnificent privilege to all the laity who are willing to be invested in the Brown Scapular of the Carmelites and who perpetually wear it. True devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary consists in three things: VENERATION, CONFIDENCE AND LOVE. By simply wearing the Scapular, we can tell her every moment of the day that we venerate her, love her and trust in her protection. Uniformity with God's Will by St Alphonsus de Liguori
Written in 1755, Uniformity with God's Will, is a wonderful little treatise on the true love of God. Saint Alphonsus de Liguori writes to encourage believers to unify their wills with that of God's, so that they may love God perfectly: "the more one unites his will with the divine will, the greater will be his love of God." To choose otherwise, i.e. to choose not to unify one's will with God's, is "a kind of idolatry." These seven short chapters, not simply prone to abstract speculation, explore concretely how to make one's own will uniform with God's through the hardships of this life. Further, the book discusses the fruit of such a union with God's will: happiness. St Alphonsus concludes by noting how, in all things, Christians must remain steadfast in their union with God's will.
